The Child Who Envied Another Child
Once
there was a child with his father playing in the park. After playing, they bought ice cream and then started to go home.
As they walk in the pathway, the child saw a boy of his age, running wild and free. The child soon got jealous of the boy,
so he asked his father, "Dad, could you please release me? You're holding me too tight!"
The father answered, "Oh no, my dear child. I must hold you tight. You might get hurt.""But Dad look at that boy. He's running
wild and free. I want to be like him. I'm free to do what I want," the child replied.
As soon as the child finished his sentence, the boy who ran wild and free was hit by a car. But, alas, too late, the boy was
dead.
"You see, my child," said the father. "Running wild and free doesn't mean you're safe. Now you have learned your lesson. Come
now, we will go home."
The child learned his lesson; and they went home.
